What to do with children in Palanga in summer?
Summer in Palanga with children is not just about lying on the beach all day. There's so much more than just the beach to enjoy in the seaside in summer: play parks, bike rentals, cafés, playgrounds and events every day - you won't be short of activities and fun for the kids. And with long days and summer weather, you can fit more adventures into your day - if you know what to do.
Cycling around Palanga
Cycling is probably the most popular summer activity in Palanga. With younger children, we recommend a shorter route - take the cycle path towards the centre, then towards Birutė Park to the bridge and back. With older children, you can ride to Šventoji (about 10 km one way, on a flat, cycle-friendly path).
Our advice: in the first half of the day, cycle paths are usually „emptier“.
Bike rental in Palanga has been open since the end of April, and most places offer child seats, trailers and balance bikes. For a more detailed guide to cycling routes, click here:

More informationWhere to eat in Palanga with children?
During your holiday in Palanga, the most frequent question is where to eat? And while there's no shortage of cafés and restaurants in Palanga in summer, finding a cosy and child-friendly place to eat can be more difficult. With this in mind, we've selected the places that have child-friendly menus, children's lounges, activity areas or playgrounds - our 3 recommendations for your family lunch or dinner in Palanga:
Symphony of Flora
Located in the centre of Palanga, on J. Basanavičiaus Street, the restaurant first of all attracts attention with its unique surroundings: the area is full of plants, flower gardens, a waterfall and several fountains roaring in the background, and in the evening, the cosiness is created by the lighting of bulbs. The menu offers a wide variety of different dishes, from Lithuanian specialities and fish to grilled dishes. We recommend this place for children: the menu is tailored for children, there is a playground in the courtyard, a trampoline, and rabbits that attract the attention of children.

The name of the place also gives away the atmosphere of the place: grandmothers greet you on arrival, and there are plenty of cosy, themed décor items such as cushions, crocheted tablecloths and tea sets. You can arrive for breakfast (breakfast menu), lunch or dinner, where you can choose from traditional Lithuanian dishes, meat or fish specialities. This place is often complimented for its large portions of food. The restaurant has a separate children's menu, high chairs at the table, a children's area where you can sit on a horse or play in the small kitchen.

Where to eat in Palanga?Where to stay with your family in Palanga in summer?
When choosing a family holiday destination, there are a few things to consider that will affect the quality of your stay:
Distance to the beach and centre. Distances are very important when holidaying with younger children. When the main places (park, cafés, shops, playgrounds) are within walking distance, it really makes the holiday easier.
Space and kitchen. A hotel room with one bed and a minibar is not exactly what a family with children needs. Apartments with separate rooms, a kitchen for breakfast or space to spread out toys are much more comfortable. Check the parking in front of your accommodation - it's a really important issue in Palanga in summer.
Peace and security. Make sure the location is not on a noisy street - after an active day, both you and your children will want a quiet place to relax. An enclosed area where children can play safely outside is also a big advantage.
Feedback from other families. Before booking, read what other families with children have written.
„Palanga Visit Apartments are located just 400 metres from the sea, in a quiet location away from the hustle and bustle of the main streets. The apartments are designed for family holidays: spacious, with separate areas, fully equipped kitchens and other amenities. There is also a spa in the same building, so you don't have to go far to enjoy private time in the sauna and jacuzzi.
